LSH Reading Order Question
(too old to reply)

OK, so now that Levitz is back, I'm gonna give the old LSH a try again
(Waid's and Shooter's versions didn't work for me). As I understand it,
Levitz's version is deriving from Johns'S work. So, I'm guessing I
should read the Action Comics collected TPB of Johns/Frank and the
Legion of Three Worlds mini.

My question is: Is there an order in which to read these two? Like one
must/should be read before the other?

Thanks.

The SUPERMAN & THE LEGION OF SUPERHEROES collection fills in a little of
the backstory necessary to understand just who "our Legion" is in Lo3W.
You should probably read S&tLSH -second-, though, after the JLA/JSA/LSH
LIGHTNING SAGA trade, which was the first glimpse of this post-INFINITE
CRISIS iteration of the Legion and hinted at a number of things that
would eventually be spelled out in S&tLSH.

If you don't mind trying to pick it all up on the fly, though, and then
fill in the gaps by reading the Levitz books, Lo3W is perfectly readable
on its own. It does give stuff rom the earlier two trades, though, to
where you'll likely want to read it last if you choose to read the others
at all.

Thanks to both you and Ulli for answering. I did read the Lightning
Saga arc when it came out some time back. I guess I just didn't care
enough at the time as to where the LSH went to from there.

But now, with Levitz back (and I'm hoping able to recapture a great deal
of his old magic), I'm gonna attempt a catch-up with SM & LSH first and
then LoTW.

Again, thanks.

As far as I remember, the Action Comics arc is set before Lo3W,
but I don't think it's really necessary to read them in that
order. I still would, because it's easier to get to know the
characters in Action Comics, where there are relatively few of
them, than in Lo3W, which is (of course) crawling with LSH
members.

Anyway, both books are a fun read IMO!
