So I saw this today and was tempted to buy it but didn't. However, I
was interested to see that on the back it says that several issues were
added that had never seen reprint before in any form.

Do these issues have anything to do with the Great Darkness Saga (which
I already have in sofcover but wouldn't mind trading up for)?

Thanks!

The extra issues included in this book are the first issues of Levitz's
second run on the title, and include the introduction of Jacques Foccart as
the second Karate Kid, Projectra becoming Queen of Orando, and Chameleon
Boy's ill-fated mission to Khund and subsequent incarceration, all of which
represented the first real shake up of the status quo since Levitz left
after his first run. Most are only peripherally related to the Great
Darkness Saga.

The stories of Reep and Jacques are key to understanding certain
sequences that, in the original TPB edition, are at best a distraction
-- and, at worst, a downright impediment -- to the reader. (Granted,
Levitz does -- repeatedly -- put on his best Captain Recap hat when
dealing with IK2 ["Sacre bleu! I am just ze rookie Legionnaire and
worried about mon sister in her coma, but I must be as courageous as my
fellows in ze face of zis danger!"], but Cham's subplot just keeps
popping up randomly in the original collection with no real explanation
behind it.)

Thanks to both of you!
